The performance, photo and video project highlights the persona of the Rubbish Picker, a contemporary of the Caspar David Friedrich character in Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog (1818). Walking various locations, picking up rubbish along the way, the Rubbish Picker reveals the sublime within the landscapes encountered as he searches for and collects the artificial traces of human activity within seemingly pristine natural settings, urban environments including several municipal landfill sites.
