Tracing the contour of a capped landfill site in Sherbrooke, Quebec, the Rubbish Picker walked back and forth, at the visual periphery of the mound that was created by years of accumulated garbage. The municipal waste landfill is one of the many residual artefacts and anthropic constraints that dot the landscape as unheralded monuments to human activity. This landfill site began in the 1950’s and serviced the city of Sherbrooke (Quebec) and area. It was decommissioned around 2010. It is still being carefully monitored.
